On the Comelec ruling regarding celebrity endorsers

Magiging mahirap para sa buhay ng mga artista ang regulasyon ng Comelec, pero walang magagawa ang Comelec dahil ito ay batas—ang Fair Elections Act. Naipasa namin ito noon pang Unang Kongreso. Matagal nang batas iyan, ngayon lang ipinapatupad ng Comelec. Ngayon itatanong mo kung bakit kailangang parusahan sila o ipag-leave sila, e di mababawasan ngayon ang celebrity endorsers, dahil karamihan sa mga artista mas gusto nila na doon sila sa mga teleserye o kaya sa mga sine. Pinapipili sila ngayon ng Comelec na pumili sa pagitan ng kanilang kandidato o mag-leave sa kanilang programa sa TV.

To start of her reelection bid, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago will be attending the Nacionalista Party’s Grand Rally in the Banga Town Spot Plaza in Calamba, Laguna this afternoon. Afterwards, she will be in the Pwersa ng Masa Proclamation Rally in Plaza Miranda, Manila.

Sen. Santiago is a guest candidate for both parties.
